Roger Hodgson got the audience standing on their feet in ‘Pozuelo Escénica’ IX Festival

On Saturday July 5th, ‘Pozuelo Escénica’ IX Festival delighted its concert goers with the vibrant live show of Roger Hodgson, founder and singer of legendary band Supertramp. Hodgson has a large and recognized musical career, but he didn’t get a sold out. People from Pozuelo only covered half of the venue, Auditorio ‘El Torreon’.
Eight minutes after 22:30 h. Roger Hodgson appeared on stage in the middle of a big audience applause. He went to his keyboards and started the show. The concert run more than 90 minutes, no intermission, and made all the people vibrating, dancing and clapping.
After his triumphant beginning with the first song, the singer had some emotive words for the audience. He said good night in Spanish and the rest of his speech was in clear and slow English. He thanked everyone for being there, confirmed he is touring in 9 Spanish cities and said he loves Spanish people and Spanish shows because we have a big heart.
British musician played songs from his solo career and from his Supertramp era with keyboards, guitars and piano, accompanied by his assistant McDonald. Hodgson’s voice didn’t quiver anytime and, with a great acoustics, he got the audience standing on their feet.
He also showed his sense of humour. He invited the people from Pozuelo to whistle with him, asked if the sound was good and even made a joke about a little boy who went to the show with a guitar. Hodgson said then he’ll do very soon some auditions to select several musicians to play with him on stage.
Fifteen minutes after 24:00 h. Roger Hodgson performed his last song, encouraging everyone to approach the stage to sing and dance with him.
There were 20 songs in total which made all the people from Pozuelo being there, most of them couples around 40 years old, were touched, remembered unique moments in their lives and danced and sang and clapped all those intimate and melodic lyrics of the artist.
